Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Traverse Bookkeeping collects through this website, why it is collected, and how it is handled. It covers website visitors only. It does not cover the accounting records and financial information we handle for clients under a signed engagement — that information is governed by your engagement letter and our confidentiality obligations, is retained as long as needed to provide services and meet record-retention requirements, and is accessed through your own QuickBooks Online account.

Traverse Bookkeeping is a trading name of Austin Whaley LLC, which is responsible for the information described below.

Information collected

The only information actively collected on this site is what you enter into the discovery-call form: your first and last name, your business name, your email address, your phone number, and your intended start timeline. There are no accounts, no logins, and no payments on this site.

That form is hosted and processed by Tally, a third-party form provider. Submissions are stored on Tally’s systems and forwarded to Traverse Bookkeeping by email. Tally’s own privacy practices apply to that processing.

Separately, a small amount of information is recorded automatically when you load a page, so we can see which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. That is described under Cookies and third parties below. It is not linked to the form, and it is not used to build a profile of you.

How the information is used

• To respond to your enquiry and schedule a discovery call.
• To prepare a scope and quote if you decide to move forward.
• To keep a record of the enquiry for business purposes.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with third parties for their own marketing, and we never have. We do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling. You will not be added to a marketing mailing list as a result of submitting the form.

Cookies and third parties

This site sets no advertising or marketing cookies of its own, and its fonts are served from our own servers rather than a third party.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Visitors are counted using a temporary identifier derived from the incoming request, which is discarded after 24 hours, and the results we see are aggregate counts rather than records about a named person. For each page view it may record the time, the page address and any filtered query string, the site you arrived from, an approximate location down to city level, and your device type, browser and operating system. It does not record your IP address for us, and it does not follow you to any other website.

The discovery-call form is embedded from Tally. That form may set its own cookies and Tally may collect information about how you interact with it. We do not control those cookies and we do not receive that information. Tally’s own privacy practices apply to it.

No other party collects information about your activity on this site, and none collects information about you across other websites through this one. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect.

Do Not Track

This site does not track visitors across other websites, does not collect information about your activity on sites we do not run, and does not build a profile of you over time. The page-view counting described above is aggregate and expires within 24 hours. Because no cross-site tracking happens here, there is nothing for a browser “Do Not Track” signal to switch off, and this site takes no separate action in response to one.

Data retention

Enquiry records are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by applicable record-keeping obligations. Records we no longer need are destroyed rather than left to accumulate. You may request deletion of your enquiry at any time.

Your choices

Several states have comprehensive consumer privacy laws granting residents specific rights. Those laws apply to businesses above size and data-volume thresholds that Traverse Bookkeeping does not meet, and most of them do not cover information collected in a business-to-business context. Even so: if you submitted the form and want to know what we hold, have it corrected, or have it deleted, email austin@traversebookkeeping.com and we will take care of it.

Children

This site is intended for business owners and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email austin@traversebookkeeping.com and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect what we hold, including access controls, multi-factor authentication on the systems we use, and encrypted transmission. Client financial platform access is granted through read-only or accountant-level permissions inside your own systems. Account credentials are never requested or accepted by email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we do not claim that any system is.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
