At Traverse Bookkeeping that means your income and expenses are coded correctly, your accounts are verified monthly, and you receive a profit and loss statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement every month. The result is books your accountant can file from and numbers you can make decisions on.

What is the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?

A bookkeeper maintains your financial records throughout the year — recording transactions, reconciling accounts and producing regular reports. An accountant typically works from those records to file tax returns, provide tax strategy and handle higher-level advisory work. The two roles complement each other: accurate bookkeeping makes tax filing faster, cheaper and far less stressful.

Do you work with businesses outside of Utah?

Yes. Traverse Bookkeeping is based in Lehi, Utah and works with local businesses across Utah County and the Wasatch Front, but bookkeeping is handled entirely remotely through secure cloud access. Clients anywhere in the United States are welcome, and most communication happens over the phone, email and scheduled video calls.

Do I need to use QuickBooks to work with you?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Traverse Bookkeeping works exclusively in QuickBooks Online. If you are not on it yet, getting you set up is straightforward and we will handle it as part of onboarding. If you are not willing to move to QuickBooks Online, then Traverse Bookkeeping will likely not be the right fit for your business.

My books are behind. Can you still help?

Yes, and this is a common starting point. Catch-up bookkeeping is scoped separately from ongoing monthly work: prior periods are reviewed, transactions are recorded and categorized, and accounts are reconciled to bring you to a clean, accurate starting point. Once you are current, monthly service begins from there.

How much does bookkeeping cost?

Monthly bookkeeping services range from $300 to $1,200 depending on the complexity and scale of the business. Our discovery call exists to help us gain an accurate understanding of how your business operates, so you are given a quote that reflects the ongoing services your business actually needs to produce accurate financials.

How do you access my financial information securely?

Accepted Answer

Accounting access is granted through accountant permissions inside your own QuickBooks Online account, and banking access through read-only permissions in your own platforms. That means credentials are never shared over email, and you can revoke access yourself at any time.

How long does it take to get started?

Accepted Answer

Most clients are onboarded within one to two weeks of the discovery call. The timeline depends mainly on how quickly platform access is granted and whether catch-up work is needed for prior periods. If you have a hard deadline — a loan application, a tax filing or an investor conversation — mention it on the call and the schedule can be adjusted.
